State of Decay 3

The State of Decay 3 is an action-adventure survival game developed by Undead Labs and published by Xbox Games Studios. The game has two prequels, namely State of Decay and State of Decay 2, released in 2013 and 2018 respectively. The State of Decay 3 has been anticipated since the release of its trailer in July 2020. The game series is known for its exotic yet horrifying locations where the game is set.

The protagonist’s work in the game is to venture into this open world and fight the forces of nature and the carnivores encountered during the expedition. During the game, the players are required to rescue other survivors and collect essential food items and arms. These arms will be used to counter zombies, which follow in the game. The game is not about killing zombies but instead, dodging them and helping other survivors. The State of Decay 3 is expected to have new gameplay, including stealth.

State of Decay 3 for Xbox

The previous games in this series were released in 2013 and 2018 for Xbox Series X/S. Xbox was the only console where the game was released. It is because of this non-availability on other platforms that it is an exclusive game. This time too, it can be expected that Undead Labs will release the game on Xbox Series.

State of Decay 3 for PC

The game is also expected to be released on Microsoft Windows. Since its availability on Xbox only makes it inaccessible to a large audience that doesn’t have Xbox, this void was filled by Undead labs by releasing the previous two games on Microsoft Windows. Therefore, this time too, we can expect the game on PCs.

State of Decay 3 Trailer

The Undead Labs released the official trailer of State of Decay 3 on 23 July 2020. It’s a little less than two minutes where the game’s protagonist is seen sharpening a wooden stick. She sees a wild animal approaching her camp as she does that. She shouts at the animal, and it runs away.

In the next scene, the protagonist is armed and is walking in the wild covered with snow. She sees a blood trail and touches it to see if it’s fresh or old. As she bends down to see the blood, she sees a bear dead on the ground and a deer feasting on it. She takes the arrow and targets the deer, and as she does that, the deer makes a loud noise.

The game looks like a survival game based in the wild with no other human beings. The challenges in the forest increase further as even a herbivore-like deer is seen eating a bear. The game is set to present layers of challenges in environment, weather, and carnivores.
